Although 'Tattoo' is inking on skin, a sort of popular and fashionable symbolism, it can also sometimes feel like a personal branding of people. However, this song was really more inspired by the emotional and invisible marks or 'tattoos' that we leave on each other - particularly scars of love. I almost called the EP 'Scars & Butterflies' but that wouldn't have justified the messages I'm trying to get across because scars don't need to be permanent.

My EP is all about recognising that pain and learning makes us grow stronger so that we can transform and shape into who we really are. It's not just a teenage thing, it's everywhere and it continues throughout our lives. That's what I believe anyway.
